The initiative launched on 5/10/2020 came to keep pace with modern work patterns And enabling the Saudi job seeker and the employer to contract flexibly, where the wage is on an hourly basis (the lowest wage unit), so that the contract is electronically between the worker and the employer, in the interest of both parties.

The Director of the Employers and Subscribers Division at the General Organization for Social Security, Moaz Al-Juhani, said that flexible work, in the form launched by the ministry, serves the part-time worker, as he performs work for one or more employers, and the wage is calculated on the hourly basis, provided that the worker's working hours are reduced by the employer and one works for half of the establishment’s working hours.

For his part, Director of the Future Work Company project, Firas Al-Jarrah said that the most prominent features of this type of contract are that it contributes to raising the readiness of job seekers to enter the labor market and enabling them to practice the necessary professional skills, organizing jobs that require flexibility in contracting, and assisting the sector in meeting its urgent needs. The seasonality of national cadres, and thus the productivity of this sector is increased by providing contracts that are more appropriate to productive needs, and enabling women to work and take advantage of available and flexible opportunities. As for flexible work specialist Abdullah Al-Mayman, he pointed out that the flexible work regulation preserves the rights of the two parties because the contract is done automatically through the flexible work portal, and the wage is calculated by the flexible work contract according to the hourly wage and the wage is paid monthly, and the employee is automatically added to the pensions branch of the Social Insurance, and no The employer is obligated to compensate the worker with the flexible work contract for all types of paid leave, and the employer is not obligated to compensate the worker with the flexible work contract with an end-of-service bonus or medical insurance, because the work in this format came to meet the need for tasks that do not require a full day.
